As John Mayer says in his song Clarity, “So much sacred in the month of June”. He’s not wrong!
Starting out with my birthday on the 4th which was awesome, being able to see some of my nearest and dearest friends is always a good way to start out a new year! It was perfection: Great food, Great drinks and great company!
I’ve also been doing some gigs across the country with the awesome Jo Burt Experience featuring the wonderful musicianship of Jo Burt himself, Dzal Martin, Barry Lamb, Adam Phillips, Antonia Burt, Kathy Samuel, and Martin and Niki Atkins! Had some great gigs (the kind that are good for the soul!) and even a mini holiday in Christchurch for a few hours which was a lovely surprise, although I spent the majority of the time battling unconsciousness cause the sea air really did knock me for 6!!!
Last night I got to jam out with the ToyBox crew which is always a good laugh an full of such lovely poeple! And had a surprise of seeing an awesome guitarist, Noel Martin, that I hadn’t seen in around 6 years! So good to be reconnected!
I’ve also had a great time watching some other bands over the month…..Got to see Jeremy Stacey’s band down at the 606 doing a jazzy type thing that was truly brilliant, and again lovely running into people down there.
I also got to se the legendary Terry Reid at the Jazz Cafe which was great too! Some great musicians in that band. I spent the whole time completely mesmorized by how everyone was following Terry and making everything sound so great and efforetless! Really vibey!
Now the only thing left to do is to finish off some loose ends to get ready for Cher Lloyd rehearsals beginning at the end of the month in preperation for the festival season! Hope to see some of y’all there!
